Residential course information (pdf)
This course is open to everyone who has done a course with me: midwives, massage and shiatsu therapists, wherever in the world. It would be great to meet up and exchange work and get more input: make a date for Perpignan for May. This is my bi-annual Residential course/gathering. The previous two have been in the UK and mostly English students have come. I hope this time that my students from all around the world may come: France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal and maybe even America and Australia and New Zealand. The course is very much for you to deepen your work: with input from me, as well as from your colleagues. The main language will be in English: but I hope that we can facilitate some other language groups too!

Sarah Fishburn: Chair of the Pelvic Partnership Biography
Sarah has personal experience of PGP through three pregnancies. She has learned more about managing and treating the condition after finding an excellent manual therapist 16 months after having her first baby. With this support and some great midwifery care, she was able to go ahead with two further pregnancies, and finally had a lovely homebirth for her third baby.
Sarah answers the telephone helpline for the Pelvic Partnership and each year speaks to around 500 women with PGP. She has a strong interest in supporting women to access the care they need to suit their individual situation or condition.
She has been involved in the multidisciplinary group producing new national guidelines for the management of PGP (2007) and is involved in a number of maternity-related groups, including the Oxfordshire Maternity Service Liaison Committee (MSLC), and is currently taking part in the Local Supervisory Authority audits of midwifery standards as a lay auditor. She is a lay member on the Nice Guideline Development Group for Socially Complex pregnancies. She is also a panellist for the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s Fitness to Practise panel.
Her background is in physiotherapy, specialising in neurology, although she is not currently practising.
