This directory is active but not all of the maternity practitioners are listed as they have not all created new entries on this site. So if you don’t find someone in your area, please email us to check. Many practitioners now offer on line sessions, so if you don’t find someone local you can still probably work with someone trained with Wellmother, including myself, Suzanne Yates.
The members of this maternity practitioner register are professionals who have attended the relevant Wellmother courses, been assessed for their practical abilities, completed the subsequent coursework to the required standard, and have chosen to be included here. Shiatsu practitioners complete a foundation course and 3 x 4 day modules, Massage therapists 4 day Pregnancy massage course (with options for postnatal and labour modules) and Midwives and doulas a 6 day course.
Note listings have to be approved by the site, so please only create a listing if you have had your work validated by Wellmother and received the relevant diplomas/certificates. To create a listing you need to have first set up an account on the site.

If there is no-one in your region listed, it may be that we can refer you to someone who has chosen not to be listed here, is still in the process of completing their coursework or has done some study but not completed all the modules.

Suzanne is the founder of Wellmother but as well as teaching on all the courses she also works with individual clients, both male and female, from her clinic in Bristol and can offer home visits in the Bristol area, or sometimes sessions when she is teaching in different locations. She also offers home or email appointments/skype consultations. Although she works with clients at all stages of their lives, she specialises in working with women’s health from preconception through to the menopause and beyond, as well as integrating partners and babies through pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.
She works with both massage and shiatsu, or a combination of the two, depending on your preference.

Nicola has been working with Pre and Postnatal women in Cardiff for nearly 7 years.
NE6 4AN
Massage for fertility, pregnancy and postnatal.
I have been working with pregnant women for over 15 years and I learn more from them and am inspired by them daily. I aim to help pregnant women to feel comfortable and relaxed in pregnancy and to connect to their growing baby. I work with couples to help them to find ways to support each other during pregnancy and labour. My massage helps to ease aches and pains common in pregnancy. and provides space for sharing questions and anxieties. Women feel cared for and soothed through the massage, and resourced for their labour.
Postnatal massage is important for replenishing the energy spent during labour and in caring for a new born. I hope to reassure women and to allow them time to relax and recuperate. The postanatal period can be a challenging time, and I provide a safe and comforting space for women to express themselves or debrief their labour. The massage soothes tired muscles and brings strength and resilience.
I offer Closing the Bones ceremonies too - these ceremonies which include some massage and rocking and wrapping the pelvis in cloth originated in Equador and have been gifted to us in the West. The ceremonies honour the uterus from menstruation, pregnancy, postnatal to menopause and beyond. Women often feel the ceremony helps them to cope with past traumas, to recognise closure as they move through their life, or to celebrate the joy their uterus has brought them,
I am a Birth Doula and a Postnatal Doula too, working with families to help them to have the most positive birth and postnatal times.
